Abstract
This study investigates the impact of play-based learning on early childhood education, focusing on cognitive development, social skills, and creativity. The research design employed is a survey, justified by its ability to reach a large sample size and gather diverse perspectives. Using Taro Yamane's formula, a sample size of 384 participants was derived, consisting of teachers and caregivers in early childhood education settings in Lagos State, Nigeria. A case study of three selected schools in the state is also conducted to provide in-depth insights. The reliability coefficient score is 0.85, indicating high internal consistency. Findings suggest that play-based learning significantly enhances cognitive development, social skills, and creativity in early childhood education. Recommendations include the integration of play-based learning into curricula and provision of resources for play-based activities.
